O.K I know it is gross but my sometimes Bailey eats her own poop. Why would she do this ? We clean up right after she goes but sometimes we don't see in time. Has anyone eles ever had this problem ? What did you do?

Lots and lots of people have this problem so don't worry! It's not just you!

Some dogs eat their own poop because they aren't getting the proper nutrients or correct balance of nutrients from their own food. Some dogs have other reasons. Whatever the reason it's a fairly common practice, disgusting as it may be.

There are products that say they will stop a dog from eating its own offal if you add the product to the dog's food but I don't know of anyone who has actually had any success with this. You're best off to just try to clean up any poop as soon as possible and to correct her with a firm no, removing her from the area, whenever you catch her doing it.

Maybe if she is not a picky dog you could try to change her diet up, see if some different nutrients through her system helps.... I cant seem to get Andy to quit digging in my lawn and gardens.. She is hesitant to do it if I am near, but if she thinks I am not looking she goes right for it. Any suggestions/hints or tricks to divert her from digging?

I used to have a co-worker who would spray the poop with that bitter orange stuff so her dog wouldnt' eat it - now hows that for weird? Our Bailey also ate it, but she seemed to outgrow it at 1 1/2 yrs old or so. No change in diet other than now she gets cooked eggs as we have lots here.

As for digging, try putting Andy's poop in the hole and fill it in a bit. That will work and she won't dig there, although may just change where the hole is dug. I've read you should give them a place where its OK to dig but I have never tried that.
